§ 2.1. Mayor: Qualifications and terms of office.

  • There shall be a Mayor of the City, elected by the registered electors. No person shall be elected to the office of Mayor unless he/she shall be a qualified and registered elector of the City, and shall be a resident thereof for a period of at least one (1) year prior to the date of the election at which such Mayor is elected. The term of office of the Mayor shall be for a period of two (2) years, commencing January 1 succeeding his/her election.
