§ 78-54. Notice of violation.

  • If a violator of the restrictions on parking does not respond to a parking citation within a period of ten days, the parking violations bureau shall send the owner of the motor vehicle to which the notice was affixed a letter by first class mail informing him of the violation and warning him that failure to respond will cause the citation to be forwarded to the district court for prosecution as a civil infraction and an increase fine or sanction. The notice shall also advise the owner that failure to respond to a parking violation may result in the denial by the secretary of state to renew the violator's license in accordance with section 321a of Public Act No. 300 of 1949 (MCL 257.321a).
